Field Trips, Books, and More: Our New Teacher Request System is Up and Running!

On July 31st, 2016, posted in: News by Comments Off on Field Trips, Books, and More: Our New Teacher Request System is Up and Running!

Since late April this year, we have quietly been busy setting up a new tool for Project REAL: A profile system for teachers that will automatically allow them to order books and reserve field trip dates!  For years we’ve had a fax-in-form based system that worked well, but required a bit of back-and-forth when it came to scheduling.  Starting today, that all changes.

After a 10-15 minute profile set-up, teachers are able to request whichever resources they require from Project REAL.  They will be able to see what is and is not available in field trips.  Eventually, we hope to implement something similar for our books so a live view of what we have in-stock is available!

The system we are using was originally designed for volunteer management (another area of our service which we are excited to be expanding), so the profile creation process might be a bit confusing for some.  Fortunately that is a one-time process, and one which we are happy to do for all the wonderful teachers we partner with now and those we partner with in the future.  If you are an instructor and wish to attempt the process on your own, simply follow the instructions in the guide at this link:

If you would prefer to complete the profile creation process over the phone or are simply looking for an excuse to say hello, we welcome you to call us at 702.388.7527.  If now is not the best time simply email our Program Director Mike Kamer at and let him know when one of the members of our team should call you, and we will make that happen.

Your Day in Court 2015-2016: All Booked Up

On April 22nd, 2016, posted in: News by Comments Off on Your Day in Court 2015-2016: All Booked Up

Today we booked the final opening for our Your Day in Court fieldtrips in Clark County for this school year.  This is a wonderful problem to have: On one hand we are grateful for being able to reach so many students, however on the other hand there are many other young residents of Nevada who would benefit from the experience our fieldtrips provide.

For the 2016-2017 school year’s field trip reservations, we will begin booking requests later this summer.  We look forward to having many of this school year’s instructors we’ve partnered with return next year.  With an eye on reaching more students in the 2016-2017 school year, we also hope to hear from many new contacts in the weeks and months to come!  If you would like to discuss our Your Day in Court fieldtrips or learn more about our other programs, please email today.

Your Day in Court… Reaching thousands of students in the Las Vegas valley!

On March 23rd, 2015, posted in: News by Comments Off on Your Day in Court… Reaching thousands of students in the Las Vegas valley!

Project REAL has been busy within our courts this spring, giving thousands of students the opportunity to tour the local courts! Last Monday, March 16th, students from Harley Harmon Elementary School in Las Vegas were welcomed to the District Court and were able to learn interesting facts about our courts!

We have also had students from other schools in the Las Vegas valley receive the opportunity to meet our local Judges, and learn from their expertise in the court system. A student from Givens Elementary School expressed their gratitude in a thank you note to Judge Weise, “What is your favorite part of your job? I would think it is knowing that you are doing something good for your state.”

Along with working alongside the wonderful Judges and staff at the Regional Justice Center- the Nevada District Courts, we have also been given the great opportunity to tour the Federal Courthouse. Judge George has made a tremendous impact on students in Clark County, “Hi Judge George, I heard that the court was named after you. To me that is not awesome… It’s amazing!”- from a thank you letter written by a student from Givens Elementary School.

Not only are we reaching students in Southern Nevada, but we have met with Judges in Reno and other parts of Northern Nevada in preparation to expand our court tour program to not only students in Clark County, but to students throughout the state.

We greatly appreciate the support we receive through our community partners.
