During the month of August, Project REAL’s staff attended a variety of community events with the goal of connecting with teachers and parents. On August 13th, Project REAL’s Program Director(Sam King) and Program Coordinator(Bonnie Fraser) attended the Back to School Fair for CCSD deans and assistant principals. This was a great event as Sam and Bonnie were able to introduce Project REAL’s four programs to dozens of deans and assistant principals.
On August 22nd, Sam and Bonnie participated in “Educator’s Day” at the Mirage Hotel and Casino. Volunteers from MGM Resorts distributed an abundance of donated school supplies to nearly 1,200 CCSD educators, staff and students. In addition to receiving fantastic supplies, teachers were able to participate in raffle drawings and meet with various outside educational organizations. Project REAL was able to speak with hundreds of CCSD teachers at this event. As a result of Educator’s Day, Project REAL has scheduled several trainings and court tours for teachers new to Project REAL.
